Post F22B1/97 EX Seafoaming?

Why Hello Again..

My Question is "Has Anyone Seafoamed there 97 Ex F22b1 Engine Before?"

If so.. Do i have to put it in the Oil Filler Hole? (the block)
and the Fuel tank? i know i want to put it in the VAC line where some of it should go. from what i have read.

It just seems like if i did put it in the block or fuel tank it would break the engine or fuel pump.

If i did put it in the Engine Should i Change the Oil Immediatly after using the seafoam?

Thank You! <3

When I did it I poured it into the brake booster hose.

Unplug it from the brake booster on the firewall and pour the seafoam slowly into the rubber hose into the intake manifold. (thats one of many ways to seafoam)

did you just pour it into the brake booster? or did you add it to the block and the fuel tank?

NOOOOOOO do not do that!

Put the Seafoam in a cup (it tells you how much to use) and let the brake booster line SLOWLY suck up the Seafoam while idling if it starts to stumble give it a bit of gas. DO NOT POUR IT into the brake booster line.

Read the damn can.

Yeah, If you POUR it in, you could hydrolock the engine and bend your connecting rods!

You're suppose to use only half, and the other half can go in with the old oil(do this right before an oil change cause it blacks out the oil fast) & fuel tank.

1/3 into the brake booster, 1/3 into the oil, 1/3 into the gas tank.

Post Re: F22B1/97 EX Seafoaming?

ahh... Ok well
1. i dont know where the brake booster is.
2.I know where the Vac Line is Thanks to Youtube Vids Doing Seafoaming on F22b1.
3. i dont want to put it in the fuel tank since it could break up some build up and that build up damaging my fuel components.

So... should i just start the car up on cold start and do the seafoam then turn it off for 10 min then turn it back on to finsish it off.. Since you say i shouldnt do it on a hot engine.

Seafoam is a Engine Treatment. you Put it in and It cleans Carbon deposits and what not and also helps the Car run smoother. Smoother Idle Smoother Acceleration, And Better Gas Mileage.

if you want indepth ... Google it.

Having it suck the SeaFoam up from a cup is a much safer method. It sucks it up very slowly. I can't imagine pouring it in - even "slowly" is as safe as letting the vacuum do it for you.

Petroleum based product that eats up engine gunk is the easy explaination. No need to do it on newer cars as there won't be much benefit (not enough deposits to hurt performance). Old cars can see benefits, we did my friend's Thunderbird and saw excellent results.

*edit*

As to everyone giving suggestions, just read the can, it tells you exactly how much per liter of engine and places to put it in. You also NEED to do an oil change after doing it.

raukorist77 I dont know if using Seafoam on your 180k+ Engine is a good idea, Some people and the can says not to use on engines over 150k mi cause some of the carbon and build up is more than likely holding your eninge together and holding some of the seals tight and preventing them from leaking you can do it but it may remove some break up and you might suddenly find a leak somewhere. you can do it if you feel that your engine is well taken care of and what not.. Just thought i would let you know.

ok guys, seafoam works .. I've used it on a 96 lx 96 ex and 95 ex without a problem.

You will need to go to lowes or home depot and get some things first.

Since you dont want to pour the bottle continuously into the head, you will need to make a valve type setup where you can adjust the flow of the seafoam.

This will require suction. What you will need to do is get a bottle of fuel cleaner and either use it or dump that **** out and pour 1/3 of the seam foam into the bottle. Punch a hole through the cap so you can slip a transparent tube into the opening and into the bottle. connect this tube to a valve you can open slowly, and then attach the end coming out from the adjustable valve (plumbing section at lowes) into the portion of the valve cover where you see the tube coming out from the intake manifold. Start the car and feed the seafoam SLOWLY and then shut the car off. Wait 10 min (dont forget to reattach the hose from the intake manifold to the valve cover) and start the car and watch the show begin. DONT DRIVE THE CAR FOR AT LEAST A HALF HOUR. just let it idle...

ok... so where should i feed this in? Im hearing Brake Booster line which i have not a clue where it is.. I watched a Youtube Vid About Seafoaming and they called it a VAC line And it was attached to a Round Container Attached to the Fairewall right infront of the Driver.
any one Got a pic? of this Brake booster line or area on a 96 or 97 Accord?

You can read the can right? Guess what's printed right on the side? Instructions. Just like I've said about 20 times now.

The brake booster line IS a vacuum line that runs from the brake booster to the intake manifold. You unplug the brake booster side as the vacuum is created by the IM. I will be honest you should probably have someone who knows a little more about cars there with you before you potentially **** it up. It may sound mean but all it takes is too much seafoam or putting it in the wrong place to eat away paint or bend valves. And not know what a brake booster looks like or being able to google it and look at your own car worries me.
