Tach and Speedometer dont work

Tach and Speedometer dont work
Does anyone know how to fix a tachometer and speedometer that do not work? My gas and temperature gauge work but my tach and speed dont.
Does any one have any ideas?

Is the CEL on? What year?
Most Civics get the tach signal on the blue wire from the igniter unit/ICM in the distributor but, for 99-00, the blue wire tach signal comes from the ECU. Check the blue wire for continuity and bad terminals in connectors.
The speed signal comes from the VSS (speed sensor) that sits atop the transmission. Check the power wire and ground wire, and continuity of the third wire that runs to the cluster. If the sensor is fine, another common problem appears to be a bad VSS connector.
