Default 2001 Civic seat questions... halp!

Hey everyone...

I've got an '01 Si coupe that I use for my daily commute. I drive about an hour and a half each way, and by the end of it, my back is usually killing me. The stock seats are a bit on the uncomfortable side.

I'm wondering if anyone knows what alternatives exist? What seats would fit into an '01 coupe? Something that would be a direct fit to the mouning bolts would obviously be best... and I'm looking for for comfort than sport.

Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks.

ep3 and rsx seats are both nice, and bolt up with a little bit of drilling.

I have rsx seats, really comfortable.

Check the springs on the upper frame, I had one somehow come undone, this was causing me severe back pain. The spring just pushed back into its frame retainer.

Is it that you don't get enough lower back support? That's what I ran into in the seats of my Ody and I solved it by tearing the seat back down to the cushion and adding a small slab of foam to the lumbar area - worked like a champ. I don't know if the seats on your '01 are much different from those in an '05, but that might be a fix. You may also consider cutting away parts of the cushions that press on you in the wrong places with an electric carving knife. Hope this helps!

My friend told me that last night, I might have to look in to it...

I'll have a look there, thanks for the tip!

I think this is more likely the case... it's always my lower back that gets stiff, probably don't have enough support. Might have to find a way to add some sort of lower back support.

Funny, my friend has been complaining about the seats in his suby because he's been driving it more than usual lately.... same problem I have. He sat in my car yesterday and told me "These seats are much more comfortable! Want to trade?" haha... so maybe my seats aren't as terrible as all that... but the lumbar will be worth looking into.
