Default Performance chip in 00 civic

I got 2000 honda civic Ex D16y8, and was thinking about a performance chip good idea? or not. Don't know much about it, Thanks!

Honestly I wouldn't do it if I were you. You would need to have a lot of other parts to warrant something like that. You should look into Swaps and Turbo kits. Choose one or the other because your gonna need it to actually get any power out of it.

I think you have to switch to an older ecu for a chip too...?p28 maybe? Even if you got it hooked up i bet you wont see 5hp out of it on a stock y8. Do some research on here, check the FAQ section. Should be able to get your brain working in the right direction.

I feel that the y8's are better to just womp on until they throw a rod. Then do your swap. That y8 isn't the best boost motor either, it just wasn't built for strength. Keep your head up though thats what half of us started with in our cars....
