Default D16Z6 PCV Valve Question

I went to the dealer to get a PCV valve. They did not have the correct part number for the D16. They said that the one they sold me should work fine. It is a 17130-PK1-003.

I have searched for quite a while now and see nothing about this one working with the D16. Does anybody have a clue if this one has the same specs?

I have gone through 2 aftermarket ones. The last one buzzed like crazy which is why I want to make sure I have the correct OEM part.

Thanks,
Michael

Or does anybody know what the difference between the 17130-PM6-003 and 17130-PK1-003 is?

if the honda dealer said that one will be fine, it'll probably be fine. worst that could happen is you have to take it back...

The dealer said that it should be fine as far as the fit goes. They did not have any clue about the amount of air that it would allow through.

its just a 90 degree elbow with a little ball in it that moves up and down depending on crank case pressure and vacuum.

it should work no problem

Yes it is an elbow with a ball...

No they are not all the same. They have a flow rating on them. If you have one with too much flow then your car will run as if you have a vacuum leak. If you have one that restricts the flow, then you have the same problem as having a clogged PCV.

Do a search for PCV valves on this forum. You will see lots of people asking the question of which one they are supposed to use. There is a reason for that.
