Im looking for a new head unit for under 400 dollars. My car came with a rampage, yes a rampage, the one you find at target etc. It skips when you hit a pebble, its so pathetic. Im looking for something that costs 400 max, preferably less, ive heard the sony mx360 is good. What else, also where can i find them cheapest, im not really into audio that much, but it really annoys me that i cant play cds normally. Also i would like it to play MP3's. Thanks.

Hey I have a friend with a sony M610 hes selling or I could sell you my Fosgate RFX 9300 mp3 player. with for 400 you can get a really nice deck.

Do you need a dash kit or something or does it fit on top of the stock thing?

 

sony is not a good deck at all. they really suck. so stay away from that. i also agree that alpine decks are really good. but me personally i like pioneer and panasonic decks. pioneers are cheap and really good. if you plan on adding any external amps then get a panasonic. most of them are really good and well under 400 dollars. the panasonic decks also look very nice. this is the one i got and i love it. https://www.onlinecarstereo.com/caraudio/product.asp?sku=12156

this deck is perfect for adding external amps. and at 290 bucks you cant find a better deck than this one.

 

I dont want to add an amp or anything just a hu.

 

Alpine CDA7893/4 and a set of decent coaxial speakers because you may have oem speakers, they've probably rotted out by now. If they're new, anyone would put a Rampage deck in the car probably got speakers to match them. I really like the new Boston Acoustics NX67. $160 MSRP. Kortec textile dome tweeter (not plastic/mylar), neodynium magnet for the woofer (for less mounting dept and front window clearance) and Made in the US. If you shop around, you'll should at least be able to get the '93 for under 400 with the speakers.

Sony is junk. Their XBR tvs are nice though.

I'm gonna order the Alpine cda 7894, i'll tell ya if its worth it.

 

just my two cents worth...I am a HUGE fan of pioneer decks....I've had two of them so far...the last being a DEH-P7300....sound quality is great, lots of eq settings to choose from...the graphics are insane...my unit was just stolen so I am getting another pioneer deck...the 2002 dhe-p9300....the deck has gotten even better, you can download your own pics into the deck...you can pick one up for about 353...or you can even get the silver one they have with the slide down face...just my opinion

 

its well worth it.. ive had it for a couple months now and think its awesome.. great thing is the mp3 part i have 12 cds copied onto one cd and its just an overall great headunit..
