Ok. I am puttin down about 205whp. Here is my current setup.
98 Civic hatch(EK)
Engine: 1.8L LsVtec-bored .30over
-Professional Products 65mm tbody
-skunk2 Intake manifold
-RC 310 injectors
-skunk2 Composite fuel rail
-Fuel pressure regulator
-walboro 255 fuel pump
-Vibrant 4-1 header
-Tanabe full exhaust w/ cat delete.
-eagle rods
-eagle crank
-weisco pistons
-compression:12.25:1
GSR Head
-cams
Skunk2 pro 1's
-Full Skunk 2 Valvetrain
-Skunk2 Valves and valve springs
-Head surface was flattened and full head work was done(port n' polish)
The problem is that yes it was just rebuilt. But I believe my rod bearings are going out already. And I had some premature wearing of my rings causing me to use oil. And my oil pump pressure is low due to using a bad crank pulley. MY DUMBASS FAULT! When I rebuild this new motor, what do you all recommend me do to make about 10-20+ more whp with out sprayin.

get a better header and get a freer flowing exhaust unless you have the fart can tanabe which is ok but its still only 60mm. you should atleast be at 2.5in or bigger
have you played with your intake length, size and most importantly do you have a velocity stack?

Kingmotorsports my tuner said that the lsv setup I have the 4-2-1 headers show better results. and yes my exhaust is a "fart can" tanabe exhaust. I belive its a 2.5 inch exhaust system from the back of theheader.

you need alot of compression for pro2's i have a 12.1 gsr and was over cammed a little bit with pro1 cams i would say 13:1 pro2s will be alive with a good tune and kingmotorsports tunes high horsepower stuff
This is incorrect. There's no way you would have been overcammed on a GSR 1.8L and pro 1 cams. Displacement and/or intended use is the best way to determine what cams to use, not compression. A B20 VTEC at 11.5:1 compression can make great power on pro 2 cams. A 1.8L can as well at the same compression but the peak power will be a lot higher. It's been said many many times (and proven) compression isn't everything.
you have access to ethonal in your area?? check this build out

Damn..
Good info bro.
you can overcam any motor, and still make **** loads of power..

Does anyone even know whats right? Im just looking for advice not to get confused.
I know whats right, but you got bone heads who are posting false information.. so i'll let you listen to them, when your ready to know how to increase power.. pm me.
this use to be a tech forum, now it's little more than an opinion forum with the occasional bit of good info thrown in with all the bad, leading to mass amounts of confusion, where arguements usually follow. It's up to you to listen to the arguements and read/research, to figure out what's best for you.
Only thing i can think of is a 3inch tuned intake with a Vstack you may get some better results over the aem peice, Also port match everything, and run underdrive pulleys on anything you can, All that may be good for a few hp, and all cheap stuff to do

You've been on H-T for a while so I am assuming actually know what will help you meet your goal you are just looking for reassurance.
A few items for you.
1. The intake you a running is it the OLD Skunk2 or the new Pro series? If is the old go for the new one or the Edelbrock Performer X and get it port matched to the head and TB.
2. Velocity Stack with 3" intake piping
3. Custom header, Hytech, SMSP, Bisi, some others
4. 2.5" exhaust all the way back
00Red SiR is right there are tons of opinions on this form. It just takes lots of time to read through all the crap. Review people set-ups and see for yourself what works.
One other thing. All those things you listed as proplems get those fixed first.

a 4-2-1 is good yes but that particular header isnt the greatest. Also since your using hte GSR head, like OH1 said, which skunk mani? If its the older one it has the incorrect angles for the port

Thanks guys. And the skunk2 intake is the pro-series one. Ive been looking into a new header also. I just dont wanna get some cheap ol 4-2-1 header. When I get it. Its gonna be good. Ill just have to spend some dough tho. GOTTA PAY TO PLAY. Would higher compression and better cams increase things much? Since I will have the motor apart if it has to be done it has to be done. This car is a daily driver(sometimes) ha. I want it to be a weekend runner and its suspension is all setup for road racing not at the drag. But yet if i DD it I want that ability. I do want to run 93 oct and not race gas.

oh yeah. the head has been protmatched with the intake TB opened up to the tbody.
for your comp, id keep it where its at on 93, although if you have a really good tuner you can go a little higher. Cams would help yes, but it really depends on which ones but since you want to try and stay DD, keep the pro1's. A bigger exh. and better header would probably take you to where you wanna get to.
