Redline 3rd, shift into fourth and BOOM....
My brand new, 4day old Fiber image CF hood smacks my windshield, and my roof...knocks my rear view mirror off(from the inside), dents the **** out my roof...and cracks parts of the hood....lucky it was on a back country raod and was able to slow down and pul off ok...but my hood is now all messed up.

Word of wisdom...even hood pins look like ****...GET THEM...will save you in the end!

Man, your lucky that's all the damage it did. I would as least call Fiber Images and see if they can repair it.
A few years ago my buddy had hood pins on his FC RX-7 because a intercooler was inplace of the hood latch. Well we rushed off to test this new Gtech and he forgot to latch the hood. We hit about 50mph down a industrial road when BAM! The hood popped up and slammed into the windshield. Broke the glass, roof was dented, and the hood was destroyed.

how fast were you going?Yeah ? i have had my Sunny Stylin' CF hood up to 120-130 MPH with Pins and i had no problem !

samething happen to my friend at the track. He has a rice fiber glass hood and it was ghetto rigged to stay on. The hood popped open and cracked his windshield and the hood. This happen twice in one race season.

Damn that woulda scared the crap outta me!!! Could have been worse...like on the freeway or something. Good thing it didn't happen that way. Best of luck on gettin things back to normal.

I have run hood pins since day one, all of my friends give me **** for it and I just tell them it is for safety reasons. My friends flew up on his Type-R, oops, told you so.

take notice to the shiny metal on the hood.. sorry man.. but hey how many times have you heard "oh get a good hood (bennen, fiber images, spoon) so you don't need hood pins" and i always think.. wow that is SO risky.. see what happens.. im saving the link to this to show EVERY time i hear the thread.. " i just got a fiber images hood, do ineed pins"

Hood pins my friend hood pins I know they are ugly but they are manditory for CF hoods you got lucky I have seen much worse

hmn.. my friend with an 11 second GSX has a CF hood, and doesnt need pins.. his hood doesnt move around or anything at 100+

Ya lol i don t have fiber images and mine fits really nice, but i do see it move when im at the top of 4th sometimes even tho its little movements i slow ,i think i ve held off for too long on the hood pins
