Removing Alternator, out the front?
I am going to replace my friend's alternator out of a 1998 Accord EX with the 6 cylinder engine.
To me, it looks like it just lifts out the top front of the engine bay, is this correct? The alternator on this one is right at the front of the engine.
Also how do you get to tensioner for that belt? Is that accessible from the bottom of the car? I haven't worked on the car yet, I was just looking around to see how. I turned the car on and tested the voltage from the output of the alternator (on the nut under the boot) and it read 12.05 volts; the exact same as the battery(i know this is reading that because its connected to the battery, i was looking for a voltage increase greater than the voltage when the car is off
Thanks for your help!

There is no need to remove the fan. You can remove the long thru bolt on the side motor mount and loosen the nut on the front motor mount. By doing this, it will allow you to jack up the motor and fish the alt. out. Just my .02 and this is the method I prefer when doing alternators on these v6 models.

Thanks for the suggestions! I will see which method works best for me. I don't think ill have a problem with this, I looked at it to make sure the belt didn't break but didnt inspect how to take it out too much since it was almost dark. It was pretty apparent that it would lift out the top though
