Just built my 1st big whp civic and id like to know if i need 26's or not? Im looking to make 600ishwhp and 400ish trq. The car weighs 1900 with me in it. Also im running a gsr trans but i have a b16 as well which would be better for my application? the setup is a 84mm 10:1 ls/vtec with a sc6152 turbo
1900lbs with you in it....nice!
25x9x13 or 24.5x8x13 are good choices....MH or MT. I would run the B16 mission. But either way, the GSR tranny if you need more mph. Do some calculators to get a rough estimate.

Can i ask why you guys are saying the B16 tranny?
Unless he is revving it wayyy up there i see him running out of gear with the B16... i know my friends car weighs 1900-2000 with him in it and makes 622whp.. when it was making 570whp it was trapping 152-154 consistantly... if you arent revving it anymore than 10k then you will run out of gear with the 24.5's on a B16 tranny... Id say just throw the Gsr in and call it good...but thats me...

My car weighs 2440 with me it it and traps 144. Making 600whp, 400wtrq on 24.5x8.7x13 and GSR transmission. I have cut 1.603 60' with a pretty mild suspension setup. I would recommend that tire with the GSR tranny.

its a fully striped ef hatch with one seat and the wires neccessary to run the car. All extra metal including inside door skins was removed and i use a plasma cuter behind the fenders. I weigh 130. Im actaully deciding on maybe putting this swap in my 98 ex it weighs 2310 without me and full interior. Because i dont wanna drive that ef out on the street with so much metal removed and now bumper supports at all. Also i plan on reving to 9500 maybe 10 SOMETIMES!

also if im traping 140-145 or more isnt that high 9's or super low 10's territory with a 1.6 60ft? still new to this stuff.
if you make 600hp at that weight and can get the thing to hook w/a 1.6 60ft, you should be in the 9's no problem.
did you put a cage in it yet?

Gsr Tranny! With a wavetrack lsd, or the Q!
24.5x9x13
26's if you got a real Dog box to handle stressing gears down the track.

nope no cage yet. would i be better off with this setup in my coupe since is has the longer wheelbase and since its a heavier chassis , so it would somewhat benefit for traction? also if i use my gsr trans ill probably just weld the diff.
not necessarily, it depends what your after street or drag?... the longer wheelbase and weight would help with stability, i think that the heavier car getting more traction is debatable. a lighter car is always going to make it down the track faster. there's a lot of ways to make that light of an car hook, a big one is the right tire, then boost control. not sure which ecu you are running, but if you can control the boost in each gear that will help a ton.
i ran a b16 trans with 24.5's and i was crossing the traps at around 124mph @ 8500rpm or so. this year i went to a gsr trans because i will be making more power and i want to cross the traps at the same rpm. play with some calculators and your rpm limit to see where you want to be crossing the traps.
imo if that car is a much of a tin can as it sounds, put a cage in her! then hit the track, that will be a lot of car to handle @ that power level and weight. it's going to take you a few runs to figure out how to drive it lol... should be fun!
Cage is for sure! Like i said my tuner has almost the same setup... gutted CRX weighs like 1950lbs with driver...Stock sleeve GSR, when it was making 572whp it had an SC61 on it now its got a T67 making 622whp...the car has been 9.54@151 with a best mph of 154... so your car WILL run the mph if you are making that power! haha Boost by gear is going to be something you want too! haha
a b16 is like a ITR and i ran out of gear at the 1000 ft with 23s and a itr tranny swith 510 whp in a 2600 ib civic, i switched to 24.5 and my shift light was coming on at the traps, now this was only revving to 9k if your revving higher you may be ok with the b16 and 24s, 25 and 26 will break trannys, my advice is 24.5 and the gsr tranny its about perfect for you.

I made a little under 400whp, weighed in around 2500 with me, ran b16 trans, trapped 128 and crossed the line under 8000rpm.
I currently plan on running b16 trans, 600whp, same weight, probably going to trap 140ish revving to around 9000 or more..whatever it takes
