Default anybody using 10w40?

for sum reason im losing oil and i don't know where from. i've switched from 5w30 to 10w30 and still there shows no oil on the dipstick at all! this is maybe after a week of driving. i've added exactly 4.25 quarts into my b18c1 and its really bothering me.

secondly. the last time i changed my spark plugs i found that the first 2 spark plugs were flooded with oil. so i thought this is where my problem is. i resealed the valve cover gasket with sealant and rechecked it and all ring seals. it all has fresh, live rubber so its not the gaskets. i rechecked the spark plugs today and it worked...they are not flooded anymore but the oil is still low?! wat is wrong with my car?

any help appreciated

I try to stick to using 5w30, but I have used 10w30 in the past with no probs, it gets pretty hot here in FL as well

I have run 10w40 during the summer here in Michigan. But when fall comes back to the thin stuff. Just to damn cold by the lake.

getting the valve seals done isnt that big a job, theyre pretty cheap to buy (check around for instalation prices) but when your that far you may get the oil rings looked at too!

BTW there was only 72k miles on my car when the rings were done, but it lead a hard life up till that...
