I picked up a h22 auto swap for cheap for my wifes car. So far everything runs great on the engine.
The problem I am having is that when I drive the car it shifts hard and when I take corners it slips as if all 4 gears are gone. I can shut off the car and let it sit for 30 seconds then it will drive again. Im using the mp0a transmission with the 91 stock tcu. I assume the tcu Im using might be why its shifting so hard but probably not why its slipping. The fluid levels are good. I also just flushed the transmission. Using valvoline dex III atf which is what was recommended to me.

 

I'd recommend putting another trans in.

 

what do you think is wrong with it? Im trying to diagnose it while the tranny is in the car to see if its more better budget wise to source out another h22 auto trans or fix the one I have. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

 

anyone else? I got another trans but I would like to know what is wrong with this one first before I swap the other one in.

 

swapped back in the f22 transmission. It works good but its a dog.. Has shitty shifting points and the torque converter is to comfy.

I searched but cant find a thread about rebuilding auto trannies. Any of you guys know if they are easy to rebuild?
