NEED HELP FROM THE EF MASTERS!!!! Mini me engine help
Ok this is what i Have: -91 crx dx
-1.5 block
-1.6 vtec head from del sol (z6)
- Stock pistons (They are the flat topped, not dipped)
- Z6 head gasket
Ok The head has been shaved .045 of an inch
I also have a stage 2 comp cam.
When i went to turn the cam with the rocker assembly and everything torqued, it WOULD NOT TURN. I tried replacing the comp cam with the stock cam. Still nothing. I have no idea what is wrong. My only guess is the valves are hitting.
I hear that a 1.5 head gasket may give me the lift i need, but i need verification. I need the car completed, as i have lost my job and need to sell my current car and get this one on the road stat.
Anything will help, if you have questions please ask. Thanks all.

You said you tried rotating the cam.
You tried rotating the cam, bolted to the engine, but didn't rotate the crank?
Don't do that!
Set the crank to the TDC mark and then the cam to TDC BEFORE installing the head.
Install the timing belt and THEN you can turn the crank and cam together.
Try claying the pistons to see if you are getting interference.
BTW - you will need a cam gear as your crank/cam timing is going to be off from deck heights and shaving.

lol My bad, i typed that wrong, dont worry, i didnt try to turn it by the cam gear!
OK its all goon now, i used clay to do valve clearence and they didnt even touch the clay. Oh, and the problem was the main girdle was wrong torque
Only by a little! Amazing the difference that it makes!

Wow tear apart everything and restart. You most likely warped your main caps now as well as ruined your main bolts... get that thing line bored.
