Icon3 I need help dealing with RLZ

I hate to do this, but Brad has been lagging for so long now that my patience with him is used up. This is the story in short :

I contacted him in Sept. 07 (yes, it's been 2 years now!) about doing some work on a PR-3 head for me. We discussed things on email, and a deal was made. I packed up my head and the parts I had purchased for it and shipped it out to him. I also paid him $1000 for the work to be done. I knew from threads here that he does excellent work, but that he also can be slow, so I did not expect to get the head back right away, I figured I would get it back sometime over the winter, and at least before summer 08. But, I did not see it taking anywhere close to this long. I have been in contact with him on email countless times during these 2 years, and I think I have heard every single excuse known to man, and a lot of promises made about getting it done, shipping it out next week, tracking numbers ..... Only thing I have so far are some pics of my finished head that I received some months ago. But still no head has arrived at my door. The problem is not in communicating with the man, but getting him to actually do his job and finish the head and ship it out, I'm fed up of waiting for him to get his act together.

If there's anyone here that know Brad and RLZ, any help in getting him to send me my head back will be greatly appreciated.

TIA

I hear you Brad, but as it is now, your word means nothing. I need to see the head or at least a tracking number on the shipment to believe you mean business this time.

Head has been shipped out by UPS, so it looks like Brad finally delivers.

The guy is sick, and pushing out heads left and right..this wasn't your regular "port my head, and clean it up" your head needed repair.

Yes, my head needed repair, and this was well known by Brad as I sent him detailed pics of it's condition before a deal was made and the head sent out to him. This is in no way an excuse for the time it has taken.

Do not forget that we are talking about 2 years here.

2 years? damn, thats a long time for some head repair, i could have slept with a woman, got her pregnant, she could have given birth and we would have had the first birthday party before getting his head back. F*CK!

when you have an illness like diabetes your priorities change, you cant do everything you want like call your customers. Brad recently did a head for me while he became ill, and he did make me aware of it. So maybe my timing was better, I don't know but Brad did keep his word and got my stuff done on time.

lol...so you mean to tell me, that if you had a website, and someone got on YOUR website and started schlepping thousands of dollars worth of their product, on YOUR site, that you PAY for... youd have no problem with it?

get real. just because you sit and type something on the net, it doesnt make you some sort of prophet. youre just as clueless as this other clown over here.

i want to ask you this. if these so-called geniuses you have to speak of are so great....what do they have to show for it? a genius award? a gigantic pile of cash? a nobel prize? nope. nothing. perhaps an imaginary HT bench-racing award. i would like to invite you back down to planet earth where i live. its a great place this green and blue planet, teeming with life. there is plenty of room, even for you.

what talent do have have other than making yourslef sound informed?

what have you accomplished in this field?

im just trying to understand exactly what you add or gain from spending your time here other than your .02 about others.

i have never heard your name in any technical discussion related to this field, so inform me if you dont mind. who are you and what have you done to deserve a pat on the back?

Uhh, in the elitest forum I frequent(in which there are thousands of members) only a couple of people have heard of Honda-wreck.

Which site are you talking about? I hope it's not D-series.org!!? That site sucks!

To the OP this IS talking about 2 years!! My dad has diabetes and that's no reason to post-pone things for 2 years. The way I see it, it's just an excuse for ripping you off. If he really thought he was going blind, he wouldn't have kept on taking more and more business to make your head take longer to finish. Even in which case your head should have been placed infront of all others...
I still don't see how JLSpecialties got his head to Brad after his claimed "problems" and still got his head back before Pondus(the OP); When Pondus sent it before JL, and should have got it back before JL also...Yet JL got his back first. That seems more than fishy to me...

Here is my take on things, ALTHOUGH I DON'T EVEN KNOW HALF OF THE STORY.

We all know brad gets busy and behind with his work, sometimes quite far behind like in this case. I have successfully had head service at RLZ twice and not taken this long. (Not on the same time line) Its more about how you treat these guys, I don't know a machinist alive that likes to be harassed by a customer. Just assuming that there was a lot of contact from your post maybe you were a little pushy? OP was not clear enough? Was there ever a discussed date of completion?

The fact that Brad posts at all on this board is amazing to me, talk to the majority of any of the up and comers like CC or Belbin was and Brad has been an amazing help to honing their skills.

This should have been the last post in the thread:

Followed with a THANK YOU

I'm sure for the price you will receive excellent work.

It really is a much simpler life on the other board without the clowns that you find here, the only value left here is sifting through the archives which of most have been ruined since the move.

I continually contacted Brad about my stuff, as I know how the racing industry is. That is to say people do forget what projects come in first and which ones have more priority. Im not saying that I had more priority then someone else but Im sure I bugged the hell out of Brad. Which probably wasn't cool on my part.
His work is top notch, and delay or not I will go back to him again.
I do think that what I asked of Brad was a bit more interesting to work on then some of the other routine stuff he does. And that maybe why I got a quicker turn around. However, yes I think Pondus should have received his head back sooner.
But I thought this was a technical forum???

No, a clear finish date was not agreed upon, what difference would it have made if it had been?

Communication have been by email, and mostly consist of me asking for an update, and Brad feeding me another excuse for it not beeing done. No matter how you look at this transaction, I should not have had to wait for anywhere close to this long for him to do the work. I'm sure we can all agree on this.

And no, I do not feel I need to thank Brad for finally sending me what is mine. I'll just leave it at that I think.

Now, if a moderator can close this thread for me that would be fine, I'm done dealing with RLZ.
