88 civic DX vs base/STD
What are the differences between these two trims for 1988? So far ive seen rear wiper, 5 speed and 20 more hp engine. I'm wondering where the 60 pound weight difference comes from for a build I'm doing, thanks.
i have an 88std..and i didnt read no forum just checkd out sum dx's at the junk yard and found....smaller hubs, skinnier axles,4spd trannt w over drive,no cargo light, no rear nahdles on headliner, no tilt on steering wheel, more gas efficient........
cool thanks for the info, if anyone else is aware of any other differences that would be helpful too, it's harder to find this stuff documented for hatches than crxs
STD's have the small knuckles, hence why you have to change them when you swap in a b series because the splines are smaller. The STD's also came with a 4 speed as the DX's came with a 5 speed.
My DX came with tilt steering, same size knuckles as the Si.

A little old but not to old.
Question though, does the DX have the same size brakes as the SI? I know its got the same hubs. Also the std brakes are they the same just with smaller hubs?
