Default Broken Bolt

I broke a bolt on the coolant thing where the coolant hose hooks up to on the head. I was tightening the bolt and i guess i did it too much and it broke. I tried drilling it out with a drill bit but it didn't work. I was wondering if like the grabit or like those bits where it drills in with reversible threads? The bolt only has only a little left on it cuz i used a drill bit a lil big.

You can try using an extractor to get the bolt out of the head. Most work pretty well. Buy a good brand though.

Used one to get a tensioner pulley bolt out of a block.

i have used the eaz-outs before with good success but its always been on smaller bolts. its like 4 bucks for the bit so its cheap to try

just by the reverse drill bit with the extractors or you can just drill a hole into it and put a helicoil in it if it is big enough.

Get a reverse drill bit and run it counterclockwise.... Or stick another bolt against it and tack a small weld and take it out that way. That bolt is too small for a ez out. There are tons of ways to get it out. Or get a small endmill and chuck it in your drill and widdle away at it. You'll prolly have to re tap it. I'm a machinist

if its that piece where you can adjust it to bleed the coolant fluid, you can remove that piece itself off the head and replace it. i broke one from a D series engine and replaced it in 5 min. imo, it is easier to replace it then to try and fix it. probably cheaper too.

The bolt is broken inside the head not on the bleeder piece.

sorry must have misunderstood it. have you tried using a E Z out? you drill a tiny hole in the middle of the broken bolt and you use the EZ-out tool.
