Default Took the CRX to the track-bone stock

I finally took my car to the track to get some baseline times. First few runs I missed my 2-3 shift and ran 17's. Finally i learned how to drive and got some decent times, imo

Car is a 91 CRX si bone stock d16a6 with a greddy ss catback exhaust. I took off the airbox and ran an open elbow. Temp was about 60*. Had full interior and just under 1/2 tank o gas

made 10 passes for $20, wed night t&t
best was a 16.3 @ 85

the 20 sec run i missed a shift and coasted, but i was happy with the r/t

Keep working on that 60ft time and you might be able to hit that 15sec pass... But not too bad...

No kidding! A .019 damn, can you say "Jeg Coughlin?" ;-)

Run that bish until your clutch foot gets tired homie, once that 60' comes down, that 15 is right round the corner.

Bump..
For some good times!
Keep trying, that's how it starts! lol
First comes the car, then a couple of mods i.e. intake, exhaust, suspension..
Then comes the competitive side: i.e. camshafts, port & polish, engine work...

ran a 16.3@very slow in my heavy eg coupe on a unprepped track
stock as from factory only lowered and leaky hg

practice practice, 15's are perfectly doable

an then onto the journey off modding and shaving tenths of your time untill you hit your 10sec

2.20 on the 60' should be possible. Back in the day with my Hatchback Civic with a stock B18C1, on bad tires pulled a 2.20

What sort of RPM you launching at?

just for something to compare to; i managed to get my 1989 Si (with a DX tranny) hatch to run 15.8 @ 87mph with a 2.4 60. My best 60 on street tires was 2.1.

like everyone said, keep practicing! i cant find a better place to spend my friday nights

2.0's are great but most FWD's are in the 2.20's with a good launch on street tires. A stock skinny CRX tire + the one wheel peel isnt condusive to traction in any way.

I ran my best time launching right at 3500

I tried 3k but it bogged, and 4k just spun. I just got new bridgestone potenza re960as and they maybe had 300 mi on them when i went to the track.

I gotta work on my 1-2 and 2-3 shifts, im too inconsistent. doesnt matter either way i am doing a mini me later this month once i get the cam so 15's should be no prob

Street tires suck....depending on track prep, launch rpm, clutch takeup etc... youll be all over the place from 2.0 to 2.5

I spent half a season spinning/bogging BFG KD summer tires and then switched to BFG DRs...my 60s were much more consistent and even simple dumps got 2.0' 60s...

FWD cars are a balancing act and practice makes perfect.....dumping usaully causes spinning so try to "feel" the traction and add more throttle as you feel more traction as you are disengaging the clutch...happens fast

A little slip is okay....straight spinning will cost you time...

Wish there was T&T night locally for $20 lol

Good luck...15's are calling

I gotta admit Dave this FWD traction thing is kicking my ***. I barely broke into the 1.9's on slicks.

Finally got to the track this year and broke into the 15's for the first time.

Car: 1991 crx si. d16a6 (stock internals). 5 speed. street tires. 2310lbs with driver
Mods: dc sports 4-2-1, greddy sp2 catback, intake. 121whp 106wtq (on mustang dyno)

Ran a total of three runs. Pretty consistent times with a best light of .041. Best e/t was 15.90@88mph. My previous best was 16.3@85 (before header)

seat time is everything

clutch is not a on/off button, work it like you should and a 2.2 60ft is around the corner.

means mid 15's with seat time

throw on some nitrous and say hello to 13's

you can get closer to a 2.0 60ft on street tires..

just keep practicing. i ran 16.0's in a 92 civic 4 door with just an exhaust and filter. stock d15.. in 1996

you can def hit 15's with your setup. just keep practicing.

Good luck!

I agree i need work on my launches but for excuse sake, the track sucked. everyone from 9 sec cars to 16 sec cars werent hooking. For comparison sake a few other 15 sec hondas that were with me had 2.5-2.6 60' It was overcast and the track was cold.

either way i need slicks
