Default Color Code Lip or Not?

I was wondering if you could give me your opinion about color coding the lip..

i got a mugen style front lip. It's abs plastic and in black.. i'm thinking of color coding it to red. but sometimes i think i should leave it as black.. i'm in a dilema! lol help me out please on this one!

please vote yes or no, and if you could give me your opinion!

thanks guys!

EDIT: it's a 1997 ek1 with an EJ8 front bumper. it also has a black bonet. the side skirts and moulds are color coded to red. pic below, it currently has the SiR lip. enjoy the photos!

I see you drive a '96-'00 CXi or GLi hatch, but what exact year is it? I want to know what front end you have.

If '99-'00 in particular, paint it to match.

EDIT: Looks like it's a '97.

I'd say it depends on what the rest of the car looks like then.

the only lip i feel left black are the 92-95 ex/Si lips... the other should all be color coded unless they are CF or KCF

you think that would look good with the lip being black...?

Normally I would say leave it black, but you mentioned the skirts etc were red so I would paint to match the rest.

I think this would be easier if the OP posted a photo of the car with the lip on it.

No. For the SiR lips, never paint them.

Keep the SiR lip. Don't buy the fake Mugen lip.

Painted sideskirts was an option for coupes from the factory and hatches use the same sideskirts (in the US). So it would have been easy to get them for a hatch too.

This car is in Australia and I'm pretty sure it'd be an option or easy to get for another body from the factory there too.

dont paint it,
lips get torn up and destroyed all the time, painting them would be a waste.

That can depend on how low the car is, where you drive, how you drive and what kind of lip you have.

I have a painted lip and a three and a half inch drop and I don't scrape my lip up. I'm careful about where I drive it.
