Ok i have a auto matic tranny for a d16z6 and i can drive it for about 10 to 20 minutes. once it has a chance to warm up the car will randomly go to shift to the next gear and wont. once it does this it wont change gears at all and i have to restart to get it to go in. any ideas what could be causing this? also i know i can switch it for a manual and all that but i dunno if i want to waste the money when i can buy a better engine to mod and do it then. i just need this going atm so i can get to work and everythign. thanks in advance for the help.

 

WHen was the last time the fluid was changed?????

it needs 3 quarts every 15,000 miles.

I have close to 500k miles on two Civic automatic trannys without issues.

 

well i had the tranny flushed to see if that would fix it. it didnt though it got a tad bit better.

 

i can get a new one for about 300 but i dont wanna if i dont have to
id rather do the cheapest way i can so i can use the extra money for a new engine

 

none one else have any ideas?

 

How much would it cost to rebuild?
