Acura CL ?
hey guys
im looking for a Cheap car for daily driving with some luxury (leather....) and as i was searching around i came across Acura Cl's. They seem to be mostly adult owned and in good condition, but in my price range they usually have 100k+ miles.
I was wondering if any of you guys has ever owned one and what you think of them in terms of reliability and fuel consumption.
thank you

My Mom just dumped her 01 CL-S @ 101k & its 3rd trans.
I'd pass unless you found a 6'r
- ohya, I don't think this applies to the ultraman-trunk CLs. Just the late model CL/TL (01+?)

Things I have had to fix on my car
lower ball joints 2 times
cross over pipe
It is nice and comfortable and can get rolling quick if you need it to......engine should be good for 400K plus, new reman trans should last 200K plus but if you get a dud like I did, you'll know it.....

up your budget and get something with a lot less miles on it 7K should be the min you are willing to spend for reliable transportation.
1st or 2nd gen? I just bought a 1st gen for 2k and its pretty clean besides a few dents and what not. Rides nice and tight and has a few new parts. It was a reliable work car for this guy and he only sold it cause he got a company car. oh mine is a 4cyl stick though.
Ever thought of looking at a 5th or 6th gen Accord? You can get a 5th gen with an I-4 with the EX package (some come with leather) for around your price range. I just sold my 97 Accord LX V6 with 134,000 on it for $3500. Didn't have A/C and the ABS was screwed up and had some rust. But they're very nice cars. A lot nicer than a Civic.
hehe thats the same thing I was thinking. My budget was actually higher but this one I picked up was well taken care of I couldn't pass it up for 2k. Ac works and everything. I'm gonna get paintless dent removal and it'll be really good.
I had 3 so far
1st one.
2001 auto
It had about 130k miles, i can tell tranny was about to go.
Ended up getting rearended which totaled the car
2nd one
2003 6-speed. Brought it when it had about 65kmiles
PURE AWESOME. No problems what-so-ever. Sold it last October.
3rd
2003 auto. Currently still have it. Have about 96k on it
Never had a check engine light. Never ever give me any problems
I'd say just go after the 03's only.

Don't forget about old school Vigors. They are harder to find but I believe good ones fit within your price range. From everything I've read they are a freaking tank. Every used car review site I can find praises their reliability and as far as I can tell they don't have a single major recurring mechanical issue regardless of miles. In 1993 they had no government recalls and only 6 technical bulletins which is down right amazing.
"Nah I had the ****in' air conditioning on!...I totally forgot to turn that **** off."
"It's my ****in clutch dude!"
"I'm positive; I get a tune up...dude I have a bad plug too. If I get a ****in tune up and a clutch dog, i'm tellin you."
"If it would ****in catch, then we'd be gone."
"If I take off some weight, it might make up the clutch ****."
"And it's trying to pull harder because there's more weight to push. So if I had nothing in here I shouldn't have a problem catching him."
What is this? The ricer book of excuses, domestic version?
