idling to low
after swaping cams into my car my car idles alot lower. my friend says we can adjust the idle with the idle screw. i search here and google and i cant find it. anybody know where its at?
If I were you, I wouldn't touch that thing. That's set from the factory and shouldn't ever really be moved. Adjusting your timing and your cam gears should help alot. Im assuming if you put cams in you also put adjustable gears in. For instance, if I advance my intake gear 1 degree, my car will idle hunt and eventually die. If I zero it out then I'm good. Long story short just 1 degree can make that much of a difference. If your idling low right now id say you should retard your intake cam a degree just to see what or how that helps. Take it slow tho and don't do much more than a degree at first. You can always put the gear back where it was if it doesn't help or gets worse. That's not as easy with the idle screw or throttle plate screw. Just try it and if nothing happens no harm no foul. What cams by the way?
skunk2 pro series stg 1. my buddy says i have a crappy idle cuz i dont have headers and i need to get a tune. i know i will need a tune but it just when i hit the a/c button it dies BUT we adjust the throttle cable and it helped out alot. it was loose a little bit. we think that was the problem. nothing for sure. if i get a tune will they help out on idle?
a tune should help out alot both in idle and overall performance.. but the most important part is reliability. rolling a basemap is not the safest way to go. tune is much better. I've needed one for a while now so I have no room to talk.
