Default Recommendations on an Alternator

I'm just looking to replace my alternator that died the other day. I'm not quite sure how much I should be looking to spend or if I should buy it used / new / remanufactured. I was looking to spend less than or around $100. Does any have any recommendations for me?

I was looking at this alternator but wasn't sure if it was any good.

Thanks
Tony

Call around to local parts stores and compare the prices, I would just get a basic everyday one.

My mom had a 98 Accord v-6 which had a fantastic Delco POS alternator in it. Failed at 65,000 miles. Replaced it with a rebuilt from Pep Boys (Bosch) that one went to 160,000 miles then she totaled the car. I also think it had a really good warranty as well. Don't recall but the 100.00 mark seems about right.

Napa is a decent source for decent products. I wouldn't trust something I couldn't physically return to a location (when not ordering directly from Honda), when it comes to maintenance items.

go with a new one

I bought a used one and it went bad one week after the warranty expired.

other friends have had the same problems with used ones.

bit more $, but you usually (not always of course) get what you pay for

dont buy one off ebay lol

go to autozone, get a rebuilt or a new one. its cots $150 for a rebuilt one
change them out and take your old one back to get 50 bucks.

i would get it from the dealer. i seen so many of these civic's come in with an aftermarket altenator they usually only last about a year from what ive seen. as long as you dont mind changing when the autozone, pep boys, napa, etc alt goes bad go for it cause they are much cheaper.
