I just put all ES bushings on my 96 hatch and they seem to be good. PITA to do though.

What do you guys use to make then not crunch and squeak over bumps (Energy rear sway-bar end-links). I've used white lithium grease and I find that as soon as it rains it washes the grease away and it starts squeaking again.

I'm going to try brake slider grease (the green stuff) because I think it's a little thicker and may not wash away as easy.

Any suggestions?

if you are gonna run a full bushing kit get the HARDRACE kit, it's solid rubber and it won't tear like the energy suspension and poly bushings..

they last wayy longer without upkeeping them

We have utilized Energy Suspension bushings for our vehicles and had not prob, what so ever.
We still have it on our own CRX from back in the day.
Hope that helps!

Energy Suspension is awesome. Their motor mounts are also a good investment, but they will cause a lot more vibration than stock. I'd look into them as well. Maybe you can get a package deal, or order both online to save on shipping.

I have full poly bushings from energy suspension on my car. They kick *** and the car handles noticeably better over braking bumps and hard acceleration out of corners. They minimized my inside wheelspin to almost nothing.

re squeaking - they give you tubs of synthetic (and very sticky/not water-based) lubricant when you buy the bushings. That stuff will stick to the bushings and not wash off.. I lubed all my bushings during install and I haven't heard a squeak yet.

re installation - yeah, pain in the fking ****. But I did all mine with a torch, sawzall, and bench vice. Easy peasy, just takes a while. And no, you don't need a hydraulic press.

other notes - I installed the front endlinks, upper/lower control arm bushings, upper/lower shock mount bushings, and the same in the rear. When I get some more money I'll be doing the trailing arm bushings, compensator arm bushings, and rear upper control arms. (I didn't get these in my hyperflex master set - energy suspension doesn't make them so you need prothane ones for the trailing arm/rear upper control arm/compensator arm.)

And you get free shipping from energysuspensionparts.com if you spend more than $119. The master sets are like $145.

And I have a 94 del slo vtec, if that makes any difference.

Manafacturer: http://www.hardrace.com/
Online dealer: http://www.buyhardrace.com/bushings.html

Lots of recommendations from track racers here on the board and for people who do spirited DD'ing.

Whats nice is they are hardened rubber and won't compromise ride quality like polyurethane.

so hardrace > energy suspension(polyurathane) > prothane > oem ?

I'll buy the one that performs the quietest and is more durable.

if ES bushings squeak i dont want that.
id rather do oem.
but if hardrace is good **** then those sound the way to go?

i jus dont wanna feel like im bottoming out everytime i hit a bump or loose traaction eveyrtime i hit a pot hole or a big enough bumper, or when i brake or turn conrers the car wont feel loose and squeake.

or make noises.

which bushings can get me what i need? lol

I've had ES full bushing kit for over 3 years and non of them squeek and I've never re-greased anything.

If you want to go nuts you can actually cut channels in the inserts before installing them and then drill/tap the suspension arm for zerk fittings so you can re-grease them the old fashion way... but like I said 3 years of hard use later and mine didn't squeek at all upto when I pulled the engine almost a year ago now.

energy suspension = polyurethane
prothane = polyurethane
hardrace = rubber
oem = rubber

I say energy suspension bushings. Polyurethane is harder than oem rubber. Harder = takes bigger impact smoother. The roads I drive on here in hawaii are battlefields. Potholes run rampant, some a few inches deep. The county has tried patching some but they only get worse. And with narrow roads you are forced to hit potholes or oncoming traffic. Poly bushings make my car handle better on these roads.

I've never heard of hardrace.. and es bushings don't squeak if you install them correctly. Just use the lube that they give you...

polyurethane has the most letters in it. that means it's the sweetest. but the hardrace ones are more expensive, so maybe they're better... I'm so confused.

poly ftw

Sounds like ES are good.. but not great. I think for the price they win out... and are even better when they package everything together in a master kit.
I have read a few horror stories.. but those are all years ago. I haven't read much bad press other than a few squeaks that need lube.
I suggest a big gob of grease and then wipe off the excess when your done.
