uhm.. if you want the sound an intake gives you, just take off the resonator. and an intake wont do much in the power department, just waste more gas since you'll be smashing on the gas pedal so you can hear it. lolz.

but depending where your from, injen and aem are carb legal, but you can also buy an ebay one that will fit like crap. just my .02

my ebay intake just came in yesterday, the fitment was ok. I kept my battery in place, and the fitment was tight, but ok. The side port to connect to the valve cover is placed a little high on the pipe. It is not sticking straight out the side, but kinda pointed up. I had to rotate the tube a little more than I wanted because of clearance issues with the hood. Other than that, it went on ok. After installing it, I did find myself stomping on the gas a lot to hear the intake, haha. It sounds kinda neat. Any hp increase? mpg increase? I don't know. I don't feel anything yet. .... sure sounds neat though.....

If you get a cold air intake, be sure to get yourself a bypass valve with it. Cold air intakes are supposedly better for top end power, while short ram intakes are better for low end power. On a stock b18 motor, neither of them will make much of a difference at all. I'd get one that you can afford, and that looks nice to you.

Ah that's backwards buddy. A shorter fatter pipe is better for high end torque, while a longer pipe will benefit midrange power. That's all very general thinking though...and I can guarantee you you will not feel a gain, but if you choose an intake that's too fat or short, you feel the loss in low/md torque.

On a stock 1.8l engine an intake doesn't do ****. Buy a comptech filter and call it a day.

This is what I have now, but someone said it was probably hurting my performance.. I don't know whether or not to keep it or get a new one from like K&N or Injen.

the piping is fine on that thing. but, i'd take off that filter shield, or buy a new filter at auto zone for 20 bucks.

2.5 inch pipe + couplers + filter + spare time = the only worthwhile CAI

The expensive intakes are the biggest joke in the Honda world. People get too bent out of shape over how a CAI is better than an SRI or whatever...it really doesn't do enough to matter. Get something and be done.

Stop bumping your thread.

This SAME topic is covered in SO many places it's not even funny. We're not here to spoonfeed you, you need to research and learn some things on your own.

And an intake is only as good as the filter. It you want to get an intake that will make power, a custom pipe with a velocity stack is the only way to go to make actual power from JUST an intake.

he didn't bump it this time smart ***. and a velocity stack is a waste of time IMO. ESPECIALLY on a daily driven street car.

Filter/v-stack combos are made so it's good for street use.
