h22 swap or turbo f22b2?
Ok looking for opinions here, im not looking for a 600-700hp monster. Honestly if i could have a 13sec/100+ mph trapping DD i would be satisfied.
Now i can get my hands on ob1 h22a1 with 5 speed trans, comes with stage two clutch, h series axles, mounts, harness, ecu etc etc. pulled from a running car before i got it. head is milled .020 For $900!!!
But for the $900 would i be better off boosting my 90k f22b2 with its stupid low factory compression?
Thanks guys...

What condition are these two engines in?
90K on the Newer F
How many on the older H?
Do you know the owner/history of the engines? Have they been beat on or babied?
ON a side note, A 13 second daily driven Accord is going to cost you more than $900.
I'm voting for boost the B2 on the assumption that it has lower mileage and is in better condition than a $900 H22A1 long block and transmission.

i agree with ghost accord. a DD h22 13 sec car will cost more that just dropping it in.. boosting would prolly be better... especially with their nickel coated sleeves.. boost the **** out of it lol
Boost the F. If it blows, you can swap in another cheaply. Then if you get enough cash, you could always boost an H afterward. Boosting an H is not cheap either.
i kinda like the idea of and all motor vtec screamer... I mean i already have a turbo audi...
I was thinking h22 + some cams + some weight reduction i could probably pull off my goal

Get the H22A its a better engine. You can boost a F22 but it will on get a little more power with out having to upgrade the block I almost did the rebuild on my F22 but the price of rebuilding it was $1100 with bargin parts. My H22 minus the exhaust stuff will cost about $975 with a auto H22. I hear V-tec is fun
Like 300hp maybe with new rods and pistons. Price tag for that would be high Were you can do 8psi on a H22 and get 300hp and a ton of torque on a stock engine. All the research I do on H22 are a plus. I'm getting rid of my F22 if anyone wants it in a month or so.
what is the F22b2 as opposed to my F22A1? (93 sedan 5spd K&Nfilter, Tokico Blues &sprint springs) Maybe I'd take it from you bro> oh, and how hard or easy is an H22/23 swap into my accord?
I know how the civics jdm swaps are, with the half shafts, mounts, linkage, ecu and harness. as hard or not?

3 of the 4 people (1 of which is the OP) who voted for the H22 swap have posted questions asking very basic questions about the H22 in the past few months. I find it hard to believe that people with no knowledge of the H22 engine could intelligently vote to do an H swap. I guess I shouldn't be shocked...it is H-T after all!
You can get well over 300whp out of a Stock H22 with turbo and a tune bro.I did it years ago and the motor lasted over a year before I built it.If tuned over 300hp you will run 11s easy.
thats just too funny, 11's in a accord with a stock h22 and turbo, i love how everone throws the 300 HP number out there, no matter what engine is being debated
Last time I went to the track I lined up with another 5th gen accord, both 5 speed. I have a stock F22b1 on 13psi with full interior, he had an H swap (I think he said it was stock but I don't remember).
me him
60' - 2.43 60' - 2.33
1/4 - 14.38 1/4 - 15.30
MPH - 103.75 MPH - 91.58
I would expect similar results for most stock H swaps vs turbo F's. I DD mine as well.

And i decided to vote for the H22 because like i said before i already have a turbo Audi A4 so i was leaning towards a high reving cammed/sprayed MAYBE h2b kit setup...
And yes you can run 13's in a N/A h22 accord
if you want high reving ride buy a cbr, n/a hondas are a joke, i hope you dont think a high reving cam is going to hold the stock internals together on what would be an expensive
H22 build,
and no a accord will not run 13's on a stock H22, civic hatches have a tough time with that. your accord is a brick, and it will take some power/money to move it

Accords run low-mid 14's on an H22 swap. Local guy with one in a CD coupe did it a few times. The H22A revs to 8k just fine stock, not really sure what you're point of trashing the H was????
high mileage, psshhht. i'm planning on boosting my 205,000 mile f22b1. lol, as long as its tuned, who cares. but as far as boosting an h22, why would it cost more than any other engine? but honestly, whats the difference? stock f22 and stock h22 would need the same **** to boost.
edit: holy ****, didn't notice its from last month, lol.
