a little tip i saw on horsepower tv, they took an old sparkplug, drilled out the center ceramic so that it would be open ended, then welded a air fitting on the other end, so you can install the plug and hook an air hose up to it, then they turned each cylinder they tested to TDC and listened for air coming out of specific areas, air coming out of the dipstick or valve cover meant that it had bad rings/valve seals, air coming out of the intake meant a bad intake valve, air coming out of the exhaust would be bad exhaust valve, etc etc

How could they hear air flow over the sound of the compressor?
This method would probably only be good for checking for very large leaks.

lol because they use full size compressors like i have at the shop that dont need to run 24/7, i havent tested it in reality but it sounds like a decent concept? Im a big fan of watching those shows on sunday mornings lol sometimes you get some good info, sometimes you just wanna cry. Like putting a carburetor on a LS1.

Well I suppose the good thing about carburetors is you can run propane or gas with the flip of a switch...that's pretty much it.

I used to watch those shows all the time and then I found ht. haha.

My guess is you toasted some ringlands. What were you using for fuel management and was it tuned? If you just threw a turbo setup on with an fmu or running some basemap, that would be why this happened.

Another thing is a kinked or too small oil drain from the turbo, causes oil to push through the seals. But that would make a smokey exhaust, not come out of the valve cover.

I bet the motor is toast though.

Get a oil catch can and connect it between the head breather and the intake breather. There is oil in the head, but if it is traveling through your breather line, a catch can will stop at leat some of the oil getting to your intake.

My buddies Sube don't have a cath can and a cloud of smoke sometimes gets through, we thought cylinder leakage at first, but realized it is not uncommon to see.

Sorry bro, it's probably done. I've seen more than a few motors with cracked ringlands and they act as you describe. We can't fix or diagnose your car over the internet, and our guesses are leaning towards the ringlands. A compression test will verify that, which you would need to do.

A turbo is not a bolt on affair like an intake or header. It requires decent fuel management and tuning from someone that knows what they are doing. Otherwise the outcome usually ends like what you are experiencing.

i know that a turbo is just not bolt ons..you need a fuel system and alot more....like ecu, injector, fuel pump,ect... yes you are right...i just got done doing some testing and it does seen like one of my piston ring went out....

do a compression check first im not saing you toasted the motor but try it first and see what it says it could be anything.
