Question for you d16 guys
And everyone else that has a sohc how easy would it be to push 500hp out of a d16? This guy i know is claming that he is gunna push 500hp n/a and was just wondering if that was possible. It basically comes down to that he heard about my n/a h22 build and he wants atleast 100hp more then me and im trying to do 300-400hp. So im just wondering
As for the all motor d-series, its not going to happen. you'll be lucky to break the 200hp mark with all motor build.
hi i have an rtx 4 wheel drive civic and its a 1.6 dual carb and i need a sump for it can anyone tell me if the sump on the 4 wheel drive would be the same as a sump on a normal 1.6 dual carb

i've had alot ov civics, crx's and integra's over the years and i really dont think that a 1.6 sohc would be able for that sort of power even if it was it would'nt last long

Ya thats what i figured for the h22. I told that guy he was on crack if he thinks he could push 500 out of a d series....no to talk **** on him or anything but this is his first build and he he is doing it him self so i dont think he will even break 2 hundred. but he also thinks is 93 couple is gunna beat my 98 prelude weighing in at 2438 right now and he isnt stripping his car down. I just dont see 500 out of a d series easy and still be able to drive it on the street because that is the goal.
i have a built d16z6 build that i have around 250 with an hf manifold and mitsu turbo. 400 is a good goal more than that your really pushing limits. make sure you have your block gurdled.. if you check out d-series.org there are guys on there pushing 450-550 out of sohc. average is around 350.. my goal is going to be 450-500 with a ramhorn and t3t04e @20-25 psi gonna have turbo lag but im building it for 1/4 and daily lol so... with 250 it drives really easy with a little pep. as far as a n/a d16 good luck maybe 200-220
im going to use nos but im building my block to support what i wanna use so. Ya thats what i think to there is no way he will hit 500 with it still be street able
ok first didnt the you said he wanted 400 all motor!?, then that got eclipsed by the "i'll be using nos" comment, that doesn't sound so all motor to me...
and about the D-series, im 100% sure that if he knows what he is doing he can pull 500 out of the D-series, right now the record for the "vitara pistons" on a D-series is 609whp!, and that is with stock "sleeves"

edit:
ohh, i think I understand, the guy said he will pull 500 out of his D-series ALLMOTOR!!??
wow, just ignore him, he is probably on crack or something!! hehehehe
sorry i understand he was going turbo!, i wonder were the F! did i read that! hahaha

All motor D series is pointless. You sacrifice everything to make power. Gas mileage, reliability, driveability, etc. And it doesnt even make that much power. Now 400 HP All motor on a H22? Thats crazy. It would have to be a full race motor that you cant even drive on the street.
It is possible to hit 300hp but its still ALOT of work. And be prepared for complete **** gas mileage.
Even if he made 600WHP out of a stock sleeved D series, it wont last long. The Sleeves will give out pretty soon. 400WHP is the safe #. 350 if you want to be REALLY SAFE.
no you can do 400WHP out of a built D, and you only need to build the bottom end. the head wont blow even if its stock as long as you have ARP headstuds.

You want to make high power for a couple runs or something that will last? 609whp on stock sleeves is no way going to last very long. To do it right you do it all if you want serious power. Side comment, nitrous is also gay. I can make 200whp in a geo metro with all stock internals lol Spray is gay.
