i have a stock gsr intake manifold and alot of people are telling me to take the butterfly out of it. cause im running a b16 ecu but i have a p28 chipped but im not running it cause i still need to get it tuned should i take the butterfly out before i get it tune. and will i know the different.. lmk

 

do yourself a favor and have the p28 chipped for a gsr basemap. it'll save you the hassle in the long run.

 

You'll lose all of your low end power with no benefit. Why not just get the correct ECU?

In your case, It's pointless to remove the IAB (Intake Air Butterfly) system. Using a B16 or ITR ECU won't magically tune everything.

Some have bored & polished the GSR Intake Manifold, installed a larger butterfly system, and seen improvements with supporting engine mods. This isn't exactly a cost affective option, however.

Run an OEM P72.

If you feel the need to mess with your intake manifold, purchase a Skunk 2, or even a Blox IM, and get the car tuned. Not much of a point without other supporting mods, though.
