My friend has a 91 LS and just upgraded the cam and is about to upgrade the cam gears too. what can he do to get the most power out of these parts and get a higher redline? I was thinking a new ECU, but i'm not sure which one will work?

Also, his idle is riding rough. How can he fix that?

Any feedback would be helpful.

O yah, he has a street clutch, Intake, Headers, exhause, & a lighten fly wheel. Just FYI.

 

I'd keep his stock redline and get a dyno tune to make the most power under the stock redline. The LS bottom end won't be able to take revs any higher than the stock redline. I've got cams/gears and a dyno tune and I'm happy with my power. Also nice that I run stock valve springs and stock redline and know I'm not hurting my bottom end.
