ITR '97 vs '98 shift boot??
Hoping some fellow Teg owners could give me the 411 on this. Looking for a Type-R shift boot, but Acura actually has different part #s for the '97 and '98 models. Can u tell me is just the stitching different size/pattern or something like that? Weirdly, the '00 and '01 models have the same part # as GS-Rs and all other Tegs, which means they're just black leather, no stitching. I thought all Type-Rs had red stitching for all years to match the seat stitching, but apparently I was wrong. An Acura dealer couldn't tell me the difference, and can't find jack s*** on the web. I'm a rookie here, so any tips would be very appreciated. Mahalo.
I can't see why the 97 and 98 boots would have different numbers. Maybe because of the minor model year change, they changed the numbers. All USDM ITR boots are black-stitched, only the 98 spec JDM ITR came with red stitching. 97-98 boots differ from 00-01 boots because the 97-98 have the collar to allow the stock **** to clip into. 00-01 had the aluminum **** with the nut, so they didn't need the clip in collar.
I think ur right....I used to have a '96 DC4 Teg that I put a new shift boot in.....thinking back, I probably ordered a JDM boot on the web somewhere. Must have, if all USDM ITRs are black-stitched. Guess I'll have to order another one. Thank u sir for clearing that up for me. Now i can sleep tonite
