Before & after Maaco! 94' Civic Cx Teal!
I know I have another thread on here about Maaco painting vs. rattle can but I figured I'd make a thread of before and after they painted my car.
I first got my car with lots of dents, hit on the rear quarter( small but put a hole through the quarter and broke the bumper) and about ten holes from a gay *** mid wing.
Maaco actually did better then I thought they would, I paid $270 with tax and it came out great. I did all the body work and prep myself, which is probably why it looks decent. I love how some people completely hate Maaco and say the paint peels off in a few days, but thats mostly b/c of poor prep work. If you do it yourself, it should look pretty good.
I know I'm happy with it, let me know what you think. I don't have pics before body work sadly

We need bigger pics to truly judge it lol...
But i do agree with you, put in the time and prep work and you will most likely be happy with it.

Looks a lot better. I agree with what you said about prep work. I've seen Maaco paint that lasted and looked great because of the prep work. I have also seen Maaco paint chip and look like complete *** because the person did little to no prep work.

^^^ the paint should last as long as any other paint like the OP said prep work is everything and the maaco guys aren't that bad actually they are really good, because all they do all day is paint so they know how to spray pretty well just lack on prep. But to the op looks really good man!. and for the price you cant beat that.
I know in macco you got options of which paint job you want. which one did you decide on i already got all my prep work done so did you primer your self before paint? let me know as i wanna know what im going to have to do as far as prep work to have my car painted.
Thanks for all the positive comments you guys made. And for the haters, I'm sorry I couldn't afford a "good" paint job. And it should last a long time as long as I wash and wax it. Which I tend to do alot with my past cars lol. For $270 and my own body work, I thought it would look awful, but it came out amazing.
I'll try to get some better pics tomorrow after I wax it, hasn't chipped yet like all you Maaco haters say after a couple of days. The only reason most of Honda-tech and Honda guys in general hate on Maaco is b/c they do poor prep work and the paint will chip off and then they go and bad talk about their own prep work basically.
I went with the ambassador paint, the cheapest one they have. It's normally $300 but they had a special for $200 and the sealer for the bumpers was $40 and tax was $30.
Now about the prep work, I had the mid wing holes patched, and it was hit in the rear quarter and misc. dents. So I only primered the spots I fixed. But I did wet sand the WHOLE car the night before I dropped it off, this will reduce orange peel. My car has virtually no orange peel b/c I wet sanded. Hope this helps.

It looks really good up close. No orange peel and not a single run and has a ton of flake for a stock color. I'll get some better pics tomorrow.
Just wet sand the car and take your car to them and they will get the paint code off the door jam. You don't need to primer the whole car.
