I have a jdm b16a in my eg hatch and every once in a while I'll see oil leaking from the left side of the head gasket right by the engine block stamp and the vtec oil pressure sensor.

I was thinking that someone (previous owner) did a head gasket and re-used the head bolts so its leaking now? I could be completely wrong but thats what I was thinking.

But my buddy told me to just put a washer under the bolt head and thats what he does and his doesn't leak instead of buying new studs or bolts.

So should I try to use washers before going to spend the money on new bolts or could it be the head gasket itself? Any help would be appreciated.

 

That is what someone from Cincy would say haha, are you sure its not coming from the distributor.
