Turbo specialties had there 436whp Type-R at the auto-x in Bham this Sunday. It is a very clean car only denoted by the Volks, a few small stickers, and some weird aftermarket radiator
. For this event the driver said it was dialed down to 15psi which makes a little over 300whp (think he said 330). The turbo was also freaking huge looking on the car. Not sure what kind of housing it was but its custom anyway so not like it matters. It was in my run group and I was right behind him. There was a pretty decent strait to the first slalom. It would just bog off the line and after about 2 seconds BOOM, the turbo would spool and the tires were toast. He had a coilover setup but I forgot what time. He ended up running I believe 49 second time (I ran 46.7). I know its definitely not an auto-x car but it sure was interesting too see. Turbo is cool but I'm definitly staying all motor now. Linear power is your friend. I still give it
By the way I won STX. I know I'm bragging but its my first win. Had to show them WRX's what's up. Type-R represent yo!

hey, that was me!thanks for the compliments!i have to say that the turbo is way too big for autocross.the lag was killin me!every time the boost came in i was going into a turn.also, that was the first time i had ever done that and i was not near aggresive enough.i am going to have to stick with the big turbo though because i can't stop drag racing!

for taking a turbo R out there.
For aero ninja as well for winning!
Congrats on the win. I love beating cars that are supposed to be faster than my ITR...makes me think I'm a better driver than they are

At what RPM does your turbo kick in (max boost)? I'm never below 4000 rpm when I autocross.
Considering that was your first time autocrossing, 3 seconds behind a veteran driver is not bad at all for a mid 40 second course.

the turbo spools at about 4500 so you can imagine how bad it was.i am going to try braking with the left foot next time.this time i just wanted to get out there and have some fun.

I've seen your car at the nopi event at silver dollar... running low 12's if I'm not mistaken - maybe high 11's? Damn I can't remember...
