So I was checking out an EP3 today at an independent dealership, taking a close look at things. As I was looking around the car, noticing the average wear and tear plus a little bit more haha, I came upon an alarm LED right next to the left hand coin pocket velcrod on the dash piece. It was placed under and a little to the left of the steering wheel. It also had a button for what looks like it is for the valet switch. The wire was neatly taped up with electric tape and routed into the dash piece. I asked if they had installed any parts on it, and of course he said all they did was just the routine maintenance like oil change and such. I asked him what it was, and he said that is the OEM alarm that Honda had put in, and he armed the car, and showed me how it lit up hahaha, which I kind of laughed inside of my head cause I was like "this fool is really showing me this."

Anyways, for any of you who work at Honda, or know anything about this, do they just velcro the LED/Valet switch for the OEM alarm in that area?

I found a picture of the interior on their site and circle what I am talking about.

 

No factory alarms in North American EP3's, just dealer accessory kits which are controlled by the keyless entry remote transmitters. No valet switches.

 

so...im guessing that is just part of the kit then? im not sure if that button i saw was exactly a valet switch, but it was a button.

 

Likely an aftermarket type of anti theft device.
