Default Hello everyone; new around here.

Hello to all Honda heads! Came across the site while trying to research my latest project and found far more info than in previous forums. I own two 94 Accords, one EX coupe and I just purchased a new (to me) LX sedan. The coupe project was just about complete and well we all know how it goes; they're never really finished. Anyhow, I also have the luck of owning two H22's, one a1 and an a4. The a4 is presently sitting in my coupe, NA and will be relocating to the sedan after its rebuild. This is where I'm going to be asking some questions on. The a1 was just completely built for boost duty and will be finding a home in the coupe.

I've read that its possible to use F22 internals in the H to make a 2.3L motor, does or has anyone tried this? If so what was the outcome? I'm not looking to make an NA monster but at the same time wouldn't mind making a little more power and torque if its possible. The H is presently stock internally except for connecting rods (crower) and Prelude Type S camshafts. Since the motor's FRM lining is all but gone, its time for a rebuild. I'm still in the process of trying to decide what way I'm wanting to go at this yet. The end product however needs to be one that can be a reliable D.D. Cost is going to be a bid factor in this build; having just finished up the other H for boost. The less I have to spend on machining the more thats available for parts(internals) themselves. I would like to make this motor an 2.3L with a compression ratio of around 11.0-11.5:1; making somwhere around 210-220 at the wheels. The bolt-on list is extensive already and will all be reused and I already have an P28 S300 running the motor. Any questions I can answer I will be happy to answer and I'm hoping for any help and or suggestions you might have for me.

Welcome man. I dont think F22 internals can be used on an H22 but I could be wrong. I've done auto-to-manual and H22 swaps so PM me if you have any questions.

Acccording to author Mike Kojima; in Honda/Acura performance it should be possible using just the crank rods and pistons to achieve this. However after looking at bore sizes I've seen that the F is 2mm smaller than the H's 87 mm bore. Still that should just mean using H pistons. I was hoping for either some confirmation on this or having this theory put to rest. Can anyone help with this? Thanks for the warm welcome.

I heard ppl used the F23 or H23 crank but I've never heard of ppl wanting to use the F22 pistons since they have smaller bore pistons(I think) but I can be wrong though.

You're not wrong; the F22 does have a smaller bore. I touched on that in my previous post. Thanks for the lookin out though.

Well,

92-01 H22 rod - > F22a/b rod (will push stock F piston out of the hole)
92-96 H23 rod ->Part of engine:

Hpart -> [is interchangeable with] Fpart (notes)

Block:
98-01 H22 crank -> F23ax crank (will destroke 7mm, use H rods?)
92-97 H22 crank -> F22a/b crank (will destroke 4.5mm)
92-96 H23 crank -> F22a/b crank (same part)
92-01 H22 rod - > F22a/b rod (will push stock F piston out of the hole)
92-96 H23 rod -> F22a/b rod (same part)

hope that helps.
