My brother has a 91 teg. B18a1 hey took the neg off the battery and it won't start after. He called me and I told him to check the fuses and check for spark and fuel. I don't know how to check for spark and fuel. What should I tell him. Plus is that all that it could be??

 

When you turn the key to the on position listen for the fuel pump. It could be shot.

 

Does he have a alarm system

Along with the above questions, when you say "won't start after" what do you mean,
after what exactly, was the batt. neg.(-) just disconnected and then reconnected or was something else done, [new batt. or some other work on engine]?

Stock motor. Not a new Battery. No alarm.

 

make sure to tighten the negative ring around the post because it might not be getting a good connection. Theres a tool you can use to clean the post and the connector. Try that if not take the plugs out and see if they are black at the end.

it wont start.....now hes say every time he goes to start it the ecu fuse blows.

 

Why did he disconnect the battery to begin with?

Shorted main relay? Hook up the battery backwards?

So....

1- does engine turn over but not start or will it not turn over at all?
2- why was batt. disconnected?
3- what is the fuse number, there is more then one fuse related to the ECU?
4- was the "ECU" fuse blowing all along or is this something new?
5- can you hear the fuel pump prime, [running] the fuel system when ign. key is turned on?


Please answer all the above questions. 94
