Default Exhaust: Bad for your ears?

I have an S2000 with a Comptech exhaust and was wondering if any of you Type-R people have had issues with hearing loss due to the extreme noises some of our cars make with aftermarket exhausts.

I'm somewhat concerned about the boominess of mine and was wondering if the Type-Rs feature some loud exhausts and how you guys deal with it.

Personally, my hearing isn't worth the sportier exhaust note at this point in time.

I would more so be concerned with stress >> noise causes stress, which will make you fatigue, give you more build up cholesterol on your arteries, etc.

does the exhaust have a baffle?

I have tinitus... from DJing in the past... my Tanabe RM exhaust with a straight pipe isn't helping any.

I run a HKS Hiper Ti and at low RPM WOT it is extremely loud. I have noticed ringing in my ears after long sessions of freeway driving...hopefully there won't be any permanent damage...it is worth the noise for now.

After years of using one of these, an open header seems quiet.

Nope.

Not mine either, but just like the one I used to have. It's a 100w JCM 900 Dual Reverb.

The 800s (both 2203 and 2204) sound much, much better.

But I use Mesa combos now.

Ah the 900. Believe it or not, i've yet to try out a 2203 OR a 2204, just the newer 2000 DSL's..Mesa's rock

To me the DSLs sound a lot better than the TSLs. They still don't have the "magic" of a single channel 800, or, better yet, a Plexi (mmmmm, Plexi *drool*)

But I'm really happy with the Mesas. They're f'ing bulletproof!
