Default My Very First Integra (97 GSR)

Ok so ive owned close to 30 Hondas over the past 10 years and just finally bought my first Integra and LOVING IT. First off it got it for a steal, sold my h22 turbo eg hatch and picked this up the same day. Engine only has 15k miles on frest rebuild so I dont think im gonna mess with it too much right away since the thing runs and sounds so smooth, may swap the wing for a cf type r and eventually cf hood and trunk and 98 front bumper since 98 head lights came with the car. Most likely will do a dyno tune soon tho. Let me know what you think and what suggestions you have. Mainly wanna see what the limitations are with this setup, esp redline and what other mods would be great.

97 Integra GSR

Mods:
CTR pistons bored .25 over

B&M Fuel Pressure Regulator
Light Weight Flywheel

ahh mainly fix the few small things wrong with the car which is only the center caps for the wheels, tires, power antenna, windshield since it has a small scratch and install the brand new carpet that came with the car. Wanted to see what engine mods i could do or maybe if i could use nitrous on this setup since the compression is somewhere around 12 to 5

Ok so ive already got a slight problem with the car and thats with the starter. Previous owner just replaced it and the other day it started acting up and would click but wouldnt turn over? so luckily i still had his name and phone number and found out he got it at auto zone so i replaced it for free even tho it tested good. Threw the new one in and it still does the same thing, if i turn the key forward a few times fast it finally starts. Has anyone ever experienced this problem or know what it could be?? i check the wiring and tested my own wire from the battery to the starter and no difference. The connection should be good since you can hear the starter click. Could it be that its not powerful enough to turn the flywheel and clutch?

could be a bad ignition switch, those are pricey though, cost me 220 for mine. Its possible you got another bad starter, or, have you tested the battery?

I think the circuit 8 is a mf8 replica and the helium is a ce28 replica.

To the OP just strip down the valve cover and get some wrinkle black or red paint and go a it .

A few things, get a OEM rebuilt ITR starter from the Acura dealership. It actually cost less than a GSR starter and has a bit more torque.
Some Suggestions:
Better header. A ITR 4-1 would be better than that DC Sports. Big money look into SMSP, Hytech, Bisi.
What kind of CAT is on it now? OEM, High flow or test pipe.
Remove the MSD crap. Doesn't help Hondas. Go back to OEM or NGK wires.
Watch out with those cam gears. Years ago when they first came out the slipped a lot, only 3 bolts.
I know you have a S100 you may want up grade to a S300. More options.

The outside looks really good. How's the interior?
Good find over all, have fun with it.

thats what im thinking, needs a torqueir starter. DC doesnt put out good numbers anymore or just not for my setup? Cat is stock for now, ill throw a test pipe on and keep it when its time to pass emmissions. Blaster coil or any coil isnt good your saying? Cam gears arent really set it looks so there kind of pointless for now. Any s300 is prolly coming over the winter. Interrior is 9 out of 10. Dude removed the carpet bc of a stain or sumthing but threw in a BRAND NEW carpet with the deal, just have to install it. Oh he also gave me black rear seats, Swapping to black interrior seems like it would be very time consuming and pricey you think?

The're much better headers that DC's. I forgot Skunk2's is pretty good for the price.
Any coil. Honda's OEM stuff is really really good. When boost up to really big numbers 500+ you'll need to change out the Coil and wires. Since your going N/A no need.

My GSR has a black Interior. I like it. If you have black rear seats you could always get some racing seats for the front in black. Just a thought. Ebay and the marketplace could also be your friend for front seats.

full interrior is stock tan, he just threw in the back seats he had since i guess he was gonna go black. I was never a fan of the tan but it doesnt bother me now, esp the leathers.

the skunk2 megapower is one of the best headers period. donf in all motor back to back tested it against some pretty high end competition. for they $600-700 they cost they really back it up

its the ignition switch.. it just happened to me on my 95 ej1. all u need is the back half.

you cant buy it alone from a parts store or dealer ship.. you can find one at a pick-n-pull or someone parting out a car. let us know how that goes
