This is a plastic rectangular black or grey box about 2" x 1.5" x 1.25". On a 2000 Accord push the drivers seat all the way back. Lay on your back looking under the steering column.
My attached pics are excellent. The plastic unit is mounted on a bracket. It does not come off without removing the bracket. The bracket is attached with a 10mm screw head. Use that socket with a shorty extention to break it loose, then undue - remember exactly how this was attached. Regardless, this is a major difficult job. You can only get one arm-hand in there at a time. Putting it back in is harder than taking it off.
The bracket has a tab and a screw, so putting it back, the tab must be its hole and the screw threads aligned with its hole and then put in the screw. Very hard with one hand.
I did this all without removing any panels. I did have to disconnect the brake light switch and remove the wire cluster connected to the same bracket to fit a socket in there.
Going through this trouble I did not want to chance another repair and replaced it with a new one. Old one Siemens, new one Mitsuba. Part cost 40.78.
Only time will tell as this is an intermittent no turn-over issue.
