Clutchless upshifts: yes, no, sometimes, maybe
I have an 88 EX250 is this a good or bad thing to do?
Yes-it is okay to do it every day
No-it breaks things, do not even do it when accelerating hard
Sometimes-will cause wear-do it only when accelerating hard
Maybe-I don't know so I'm clicking here to avoid confusing anyone

Sometimes - if you're accelerating hard. I usually save it for trackdays or races. It will wear the transmission internals faster, especially if you mess up a shift (gear dogs and shift forks are the usual places it'll show the somewhat accelerated wear). Also, some bikes will just do it better than others...my Kawi ZR550 was very smooth, while my current Hondas feel somewhat crunchy.
IMO, it's something to learn and know, but not something I'd use in normal everyday riding.

i just started doing this almost by accident. if you rev match perfectly, its smooth like butter. but i cant do it consistently or at all while accelerating hard...

I used it when my clutch wire snapped (because i crashed) during a race.
I leave it in nutral, run, drop it in 1st, and everything else is done without the clutch. upshift, downshift. If you are used to the bike, it should be easy.

You don't rev-match on upshifts really... What you do is preload the shift pedal, back off the throttle for a split second, and it'll go right into the next gear. It takes practise to get smooth at it.
I think you should only do it under the right circumstances like at the track. On the street I think you should use the clutch, I mean that's why it's there right plus on the street you already have enough to worry about why add something to have to think about

Thanks for the replys. I noticed mine was super slick doing it (did it on accident once, then a couple more times) but figured I should ask before doing it alot. On a side note, ex250s only hold 3.8 gallons. I ran min out of gas today and could only get 3.85 in. I had 257 miles which makes for an unreasonable 66.75 mpg (checked it twice) with the way I have been riding it.

Clutch is there for a reason
I do it on my dirtbike...because the clutch is fried anyways...but onn my CBR...HELL NO! I can only imagine what it would cost to replace all those parts. Like it was said before, the clutch is there for a reason.
I never used my cluch on my gsxr up and down shifts i only use it to start. pluse they do have vear good tranys. and it did not where any more then normal. but this dose depend on the rider to. my shope guy was veary suprised on how good condethin the tranny was with the way i ride. but if it gives you somthing more to think about while riding on the street and in trafic dont do it that much. and you just need to do what is more cofertable for you and what is in you riding style.
riding is just like sex you can talk like you are the **** and then make your self look like a ***, you can talk and walk or you are will talk the **** and be agresive as hell but smoth and shock the hell out of every one.
