Default tranny issue

i have a 94 civic ex automatic. im not sure wuts wrong with the tranny??? when i put it in gear it will drive normal for about a minute, then all of a sudden it will just act like its in nuetral, and freely rev when i give it gas. i can put it in any gear and it will just rev. no knocking, no grinding, just a little whining noise. it will only go into gear and drive, if i let the car sit for 30 min or so. when it does drive it shifts PERFECT. the tranny fluid is full and is still clean and red. maybe a sylenoid??? or is it time for another tranny??? let me know wut u guys think. thanks, i appreciate it...
