Default anyone running a d15b7 obd0

i got an all stock d15b7 running obd0 with a d16a6 dizzy and i cant get the ignition timing marks to line up. the only way i think i can get it to is cut the ears on the dizzy so i can turn it more.

ummmmmm you're timing belt is probably a tooth off if it's not lining up. a b7 is like a newer b1 or b2. same specs, just obd1 origonaly.

forgot to mention that. thats what i thought it was but the cam gear and crank gear are lined up on the marks. just cant get the ignition timing right. the weird thing is i had this motor set up before but different motor and different dizzy and it timed just fine.

i just pulled the timing covers and i think the cam pulley is off. theres 3 lines in the cam pulley 2 of the lines are horizontal on one on the lower part of the pulley. the way it is now is the lower line on the pulley is lined up with the plastic pointer. but the 2 horizontal lines are not dead even with the head. so my question is the 2 lines suposed to line up with the head or the third line suposed to be at the pointer?

I ran into the same issue as you did, its a simple fix all you need is an long 3/8 extention, take out spark plug #1 and put the extention in there, turn the crank til the extention is all the way to the top (piston is at its highest point) well TDC. Take off the dizzy cover and rotate the cam til the rotor is pointing to the cylinder 1, put the timing belt on and if it starts and flutters, move the dizzy forward or retard. You might even have to take off the tbelt and move the cam one tooth

sounds ghetto but its a fix
