Well I know everyone loves the idea of the outlaw events and it is the next thing as far as the sport compact racing goes so I have been talking to Dave Hance and he feels that the shakedown needs some sport compact love for next years event.
So what we are throwing around is a q16 class for all the crazy wheel standing cars from puerto rico and of course from here in the states. I feel as though that is one of the best classes for a fan to watch. Now he also has a soft sport for the fwd guys since he had Gary and Jason do some grudge racing at the shakedown last year. I explained to him about the amount of pro front and hot-rod cars and it being difficult to fill a full field so what is everyones thoughts on a true outlaw fwd class. 2400lbs, 26x10"tire, no wheelie bars. Run what you brung. I know that is is a little out there but that would allow the hot-rod guys to take the bars off, put a smaller tire and bring the cars back out and allow the sfwd and outlaw style guys to put bigger turbos on and really let it all hang out.
This might be the next step in outlaw sport compact races and its also the weekend after fall nationals so the west coast guys could make 2 races in back to back weekends
Thanks for reading.

I would attend this event just to see some hot rod cars lining up against the outlaw guys ! !
Not to mention seeing you put up an 8.50 miller lol

q16 is a great idea for the shakedown. isnt there already an 8.50 index class? anyone who is serious about doing this should go for that this year. i think it would be great to see the hot rod and outlaw guys mix it up there.

haha these cars either need to turn into hot rod cars, or the hot rod cars need to turn into outlaw cars. it makes my head hurt just reading all the posts on how to make them all work together.
but....it would be cool to watch it at shake down. the track sure as hell will be there for some good ET's, thats for sure!

I actually think the rules sound fair for a true "outlaw" race. As long as the hotrod cars are at 2400#, and no wheelie bars, we'll have some pretty close racing. That's the way my local track has their class structure setup. (I'm talking about the GLD import wars series)
If I'm reading that right, it means we can run a bigger turbo, dry sump, and methanol in the sfwd cars. I think that would actually be a good spectator class to watch, as long as we can keep the cars from puking on the track.
My ultimate outlaw street fwd car would still be a pro fwd car with stock window glass, and working head/tail lights. I like this idea because it keeps the fenders and tires from sticking way out the way they do now, so it looks more street, but runs 7's.
