Default pr3 codes question

I recentley went with b16a in my EF dx.

Its obd0 with no o2. I got and engine light and guessing its o2.

Either way, how do i read codes with a pr3 if there is no little red light on the body of the ECU???

Its obd0 so it should just blink, but there is no actual physical little red light bulb and i would like to know what codes im throwing.

I just thoguht it was really wierd that obd0 ECU has no bulb, how do you read the codes on it then?

thanks..

you mean on the outside case on the ECU or on the inside? There is nothing but a screw in the middle of the wall

Sounds like someone swapped in a obd1 top cover on your obd0 pr3 either that or the ECU itself is a obd1 PR3.

As the guy above me said, pop the top cover off, more than likely someone just didn't use the stock cover on the ECU.

That ECU is an OBD1 ECU.

pr3-j01 (JDM 92-93)

Having a resistor box means nothing, if you have saturated injectors or DSM injectors those require a resistor box to be hooked up in order for them to work properly.

The ECU is chipped with EcTune or some other stand alone EMS as indicated by the external board on the bottom left of the ECU.

In OBD0 - OBD1 there are 2 wires you have to connect together to get the codes to flash, in a conversion harness these are done, however, they might have just replaced the whole underdash with an obd1 unit and there is a plug where the ECU would normally be that has 2 prongs that you jump with a safety pin or a piece of wire and the codes will flash on the CEL itself.

Also they may have just repinned the ECU plugs.

all i did is soldered into my under dash harness, it was already cut out of the harness that the swap was in. If that make sense. Basically they took the bunch of wires that come out of the dash harnes and go to ECU, cut it and i soldered them into my existing harness. All the extra wire like 2 more injectors, vtec, all that runs from ECU through the jumper to PM6 plugs then into a separate bunch of wire to a plug at the firewall and then the whole harness is all done ready to be plugged in.

So i dont think i would have that plug i could jump, because i only touched the harnes that goes directly to ECU and soldered provided< all ready made harness with ECU plugs and jumpers

I hope this make sence

i wonder if there is a different way of jumping those wires together to read codes. They must have a spot at the actual ECU that i could join into and jump them?

So initially you have a jumper harness, that's fine. d4 is one of the pins you need to jump and I believe the other is just a ground (someone has to verify this as Im not 100%)

BUMP, still need help with this.

1. I MUST be obd1 if i got obd1 ECU? SO what injectors can i use? I got a crack in one of them.
2. Why do i still have one wire o2?
3. Still need to know if d4 is the wire i need to groung in order to get CEL's working.

Thanks!
