in the market for a type R
Well i live in germany due to the military and there is a fellow military member here with a 2001 type r us spec with optional kit and k&n filter from otherwise stock. the car im assuming has a clear title and 90,000 miles on it. he is trying to sell it for 12,000 but i think that is way too high even for a type r. am i wrong? can you guys point me in the right direction?
you're in germany and we have no idea what the market there is like. it's hard to compare us prices to what you pay over there. all i can suggest is to find out what the going rate for the UK cars are and go off of that.
There may be some German members on the forums from time to time so you may add to your title "...in germany". UK cars have been going for upper 4k-5k (GBP) for uk spec. Look on Pistonhead for some comparable pricing. Good luck.
uk? who said anything about UK? im not in the UK and this is soldier to soldier here. we get a break when it comes to emissions here anyway since us spec doesnt really comply with euro spec. and when it comes down to it even though its a type R there is still a reasonalble price to be spending on a 01 vehicle. granted its a great and rare car you can never read the market it doesnt matter. in the states would you spend 12000 on a type r?

IMO, if you are wanting a Type R in your situation you would be crazy not to ****** that thing up before someone get's wise of it being for sale. That price is extremely reasonable.
In a heartbeat. Make sure the car has a clean title, make sure all the VINs match, and buy that sucker, providing it is what you want.
