how much does your drag car weigh in at?
Just curious to see some numbers, and get some ideas for shaving weight.
We weighed the CRX last night, and it came out to 1980 dry (no coolant, not much oil, and no gas), with my 220lbs of fatass in it (we ain't called Fatboy Raceworks for nothing). But that is also with the stock gas tank, street wheels/tires (have bogarts for all 4 corners), and stock exhaust system.
So to get some weight savings, the gas tank is a good place to start, then the front crossmember/radius bars, the exhaust system, battery (the current one is full size), suspension (full custom H&R system is still being made up for us).
That stuff might put us comfortably close to the 1700lb minimum weight for our class.. If not, I'll go on a diet.
Any other ideas to save weight. Most of the obvious routes have already been taken. gutted doors, lexan windows, fiberglass front end, no bumpers under the bumper covers, aluminum radiator, racing seat, etc.. maybe just start trimming excess pieces of the body off, but I'd rather wait until the car is ready to be repainted (the paint is new) to do that..

What year and model is your crx? Our 91 CRX Si is 1760 without driver. Sunroof replaced with Lexan helps also. We have a mild steel cage rather than chromoly and gutted steel doors (side brace removed) rather than fiberglass. Also still use a heavy battery for now. Since we run quick class, we have to be 1900 w/driver so weight not a big issue.

It's a 90 Si, which doesn't help things..
Without driver, I guess we'd be at around 1760, just like you. Interesting, huh..
The cage is mild steel, and probably a little excessive in parts. But all in the name of safety. In fact, we don't even need the cage, just a roll bar for the class and times we are going to run at first. A little later, of course, we would have to put the cage in, so it was best to just do it all at one time.
There's still a lot of room for weight reduction on the car, so we may end up shaving some more weight in the next few weeks.

Weight is like free horsepower so go for it. We've run 9.40 @ 156 (turbo'd with wheelie bars) so it's a combination that will work for you. Here's a site with some pix if you are interested.
