I recently put a p72 (Gsr) Head on my b16a2 block. I've been having problems with my cooling system. It would build up alot of pressure and blow my head gasket out. So i changed the thermostat out, radiator,water pump, and head gasket. Now that i've done that, the car would run fine until i shut of the car. When that happens, the coolant would go in the over flow reseivor and fill it up. I would start up the car after five minutes and coolant would be in my pistons and cause it to smoke(alot of smoke) from the exhaust. Is there anything else i can do?? oh yeah.. i would let it sit for a day and it would be fine (no smoke out of the exhaust) until i drive it for about five hours..HELP.. don't wanna do another head gasket change.. done it about 6 times already.

 

sounds like your gasket surfaces aren't flat. have you checked it?

 

Yeah did u check the head to see if the bottom was flat before u put it on?

 

the head was resurfaced and was pressurized to check for leaks. it was fine. i didn't resurface the block though..
