male vs female vbands?

Icon2 male vs female vbands?

what's the difference between male and female v-bands? i need one side for my holset hx35... it has a 3" OD, and a 2.5" ID, but i dont know if it's female or male...

someone HELP!?

Most vband flanges are machined flat so there is no male/female. There are some with a lip machined on them(male) and another has a recess(female) to accept that lip. These are great for keeping them aligned/centered. If your turbo's vband flange face is machined flat then get that.
