White smoke coming from muffler
I have white smoke coming from my muffler, mainly when I accelerate, and can't seem to figure out the problem. I have checked the head and it is not cracked nor is the head gasket blown. I have recently replaced my PCV valve as well. Any other suggestions to what it might be?
white smoke would normally indicate coolant burning.
is it a smoke that lingers around, or does it dissipate pretty quickly?
condensation in the exhaust will cause a white "smoke" (steam) but it dissipates quickly.
coolant will linger around for a minute, and have a sweet smell to it

Mine too does it most noticeably in 1st and 2nd.
I also originally thought it was just condensation built up in the exhaust but it does it every time I drive my car and doesn't seem to stop after just a few seconds.
I was also thinking it might be the piston rings.

it could possibly mean u have leaking valve guides. im not 100% sure but my boys typeR eg lets out jus a lil bit of white smoke when accelerating. hes a profesional mechanic and he thinks its his valve guides. its been smokin white for 30k miles now n it still runs like a champ .lol

Sounds like the head gasket is leaking on the inside and allowing some coolant into the cylinders. By looking at the head you won't be able to see it though, you pretty much have to take the head off and check it out from the inside.
Bad piston rings would indeed be blue smoke because they would be letting oil into the mix and not coolant. Before you take the head off though, I would remove the valve cover and check that area to make sure that's not where the coolant is coming in from.
