2009 Honda Civic Mugen Wing
Hey guys, I am kind of new to the world of aftermarket parts and I have been searching for a spoiler for my new 2009 civic 4 dr sedan. I really liked the way the Civic Si Mugen looks as far as a spoiler goes. Can I buy something like that directly? If not does someone know of a look a like? I came across this spoiler http://www.sarona.com/Sarona/www/index3.html but I am not sure if it actually looks like that seeing as they just took that picture and put their logo over the mugen si. If anyone has one of these and can vouch for it that would be great to hear from you. Any help is appreciated as I am new to all of this =/. Thank you in advance!
they picture the real mugen wing with the decklid piece. 690 is steep for a replica even if it comes wit that piece, which i doubt it will. dont buy from them.
if u really want a rep wing like that buy from like battleendless or even ebay. itll be much cheaper. but i would say go for the real thing so u can have that 3rd brake light. and the reps never look right

Thanks for the advice. That website does have the exact wing I am looking for coming soon. Where could I buy the real mugen wing from? Is there any american websites which sell them?
In short, unless you personally know someone with a Mugen Si who could order a real wing on your behalf with their VIN, you're out of luck. You're only option would be a replica.
Good luck.

It's not the exact wing off of a Mugen Si, but it's still a Mugen high wing.

what about the wing that kingmotorsports sells? is that a replica? how would an authentic mugen owner go about ordering the parts? could the order all of the body kit? front lip, side skirts, rear diffuser?
I'd imagine they go through the dealer. Any and all replacement parts for the Mugen would be available for reorder to an owner.

Not a replica. King Motorsports has been the sole authorized distributor of genuine Mugen parts in the United States for many many years now.
Unless you meant to ask if it's the same wing design as found on the Mugen Si - it isn't. Somewhat similar in general shape, but not the same wing.

Yeah that king motor spots one looks really nice, thanks for that link. I just wish they would sell the exact one from the Si with the brake light on it thats exactly the style i'm looking for, but i've seen on other forums that actual car dealers have tried to do that with their show room cars vin and they have gotten caught so unfortunatly I think my want is unrealistic. It also kinda sucks that buying a new car means you dont really have much to pick and choose from =/ .
Also do you guys know why these online dealers ask for a vin number for stuff like that...it seems kind of sketchy...I dont understand why I would have to provide a vin number if i'm going to pay the same money an actual owner would nor why would they care?
Keeps the market from getting saturated with Mugen Civic knockoffs. You have to have a Mugen Civic VIN number to order Mugen Civic parts. They are just trying to maintain the value of the Mugen Civics.
Its still kind of lame seeing as its just a wing, nothing that extravagant about it. As for the tuning parts and what not I could see that being the case, but for something purely cosmetic its a little much.
Obtaining one is very easy with all the Mugen Si's available for sale on autotrader you can easily snag one from there.
They could have accomplished this quite easily with specialized VIN's and production number plates, for examply #200 of 1000
I have run many Mugen Si VIN's thru insurance and title checking data bases and it doesnt distinguish a Mugen Si from an Si.

What am I missing? It looks almost exactly the same! Or, what this gentleman can do is get an RSX-S wing. It is very similar to the Mugen wing also.

The overall point...homeboy should have bought a Mugen if he wanted the prestige...although, its a waste of money in my opinion. What is the point of having a Mugen wing, with an OEM Si body? Oh wow...cool man, you have a piece of Mugen plastic on your trunk.
"Absolutely nothing" is a bit extreme when you're talking about subtle differences. Replicas are replicas...because they look similar. Manufacturers change slight variables on the exact same product to appear new...like the 09 si compared to 06-08 (bumper, fog lights, etc.). If someone isn't cool anymore, because the manufacturer changed a concave curve to slightly convex on a body part...thats not a sound argument.
